Lilla DiMiceli


Lilla began to play the French horn at Christ the King comprehensive school aged 11. She then went on to study French Horn performance and teaching at the Birmingham conservatoire under the guidance of Steven Roberts, formerly of Fine Arts Brass Ensemble, and Peter Dyson of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

During her time at Birmingham Lilla developed a passion for chamber music and won the Sylvia Cleaver music prize when graduating in 1992.

Since finishing her studies Lilla has been an instrumental brass teacher and horn specialist with Leicestershire Arts and Nottinghamshire Arts Support Services, gaining over 2O years experience.

Lilla is also a freelance horn player working all over the uk and East Midlands. She has recently been playing in a variety of musical theatre working with many established theatre companies - her favourites have been 'Sweeney Todd', 'Copacabana', 'West Side Story' and 'Jekyll and Hyde'.

When Lilla is not playing she coaches the brass section of Notts Performing Arts concert band which will taking part in this years 'Brilliance Festival' at Rufford Country Park in Nottinghamshire.

Outside of music Lilla loves to cook all things Italian and to travel to her second home in Sicily.
