Jackie Kendle

Early in her career Jackie held positions as principal timpanist with the Royal Ballet Touring Orchestra (now the Birmingham Royal Ballet) and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. She has performed as a freelance musician with many of the UK's leading orchestras and continues to enjoy performing wherever possible!

A graduate of the Royal College of Music, Jackie has over 30 years’ teaching experience at all levels. She was Percussion Team Leader at Surrey Arts from 2005-2016 and prior to that taught at the RCM Junior Department where her pupils were successful in auditioning for the National Youth Orchestra and BBC Young Musician. Many of her pupils have continued their studies at UK conservatories and have successful performing careers.

Since moving to Nottingham in 2017, Jackie has focused on building up her private teaching practice and especially enjoys tutoring the percussion section of NYTO.
